Water

By Clara Blair

I step into the water
And lay myself down on the soft,
Caressing liquid that holds me gently,
Soothing, releasing me from gravity.
Pain goes away and I can move,
Freely, smoothly, gracefully.
Age drops away and I feel power in my limbs.
Muscles and joints, free from the ravages of
Arthritis and overuse, can move and stretch,
Reach and pull, or simply glide and float.
Whether in the sea, a lake, or a swimming pool,
Water releases me into my natural element.
