In The Beginning

A pbobby Provocation
(December 28, 2002)

I am not talking about just any beginning; I'm talking about the first beginning before there was anything at all - Before time, before stars, before any matter, before God. Was there ever such a time?

If there ever was such a time, then in our human imagination, there had to be something that had no beginning, but just always has been.

Without a mythology we find ourselves bewildered and clueless. Only that which has been taught to us from our childhood to our present paradigm gives us any guide to solving this eternal mystery.

Whatever we believe that has been gifted to us from our heritage and culture cannot be proven scientifically, but can be fully accepted and lived, giving us peace and meaning.

It is acceptable to doubt part of what you have thought was truth. It is all right to dance with some questions that have been your guide, especially when life smacks you in the face or punches you deep in the gut. It is always easier to stick with the faith of your parents; is a lot simpler than reaching out in quest of something more like what you have seen in your life experience.

Even though it is scarier to explore into the mysteries one has been taught as truth, sometimes it is possible to find a nugget that brings one joy and excitement.

I cannot believe that something just happened to nothing and all that is, was brought into being. A magnificent, mystical, creative power had to have always been. That Power is and will always be creating and empowering all that is in all the universes that are and are yet to come.

Only GOD can be the source of all that is and is to be. Others may call to God, using another name, but it's all the same. Make 2003 the year you call upon the Creator and listen for directions.
