Perseverance

Perseverance is a virtue
I must nobly strive to gain;
Carefully move 'thru every waking hour
While fettered by its chain,
'Til some day the galling shackle
Will instead with beauty shine,
As I see my life fulfilling
My niche in the Lord's design.
