A Foggy Morning On The Way To The Dentist
By
John I. Blair
I was, all at a single time,
In a fog, and
In a fog, and
In a fog.
First fog: my sleep-starved mind
That barely dealt with simple thoughts
Like "walk," "bathe," "brush," "shave."
Second fog: billowing wisps of mist
Fuzzing houses, streets, cars;
A pillow that muzzled all my senses.
Final fog, and worst by far,
Induced by tuning the radio:
Hearing about the macro-murk
Our masters, minions, ministers
Mumble, fumble, stumble in
And call it policy.
